Dudelange Travel Guide

Once a Roman village, then a monastic retreat, then a stop along the Crusade route, and finally a buzzing mining town, Dudelange has a rich history. It's also known as the most "Mediterranean" town in Luxembourg: over 50% of its 17,000 residents are of Italian heritage and just under 20% are of Portuguese, the descendants of immigrant workers who came here at the height of the mining boom. Dudelange's proximity to the French border lends another influence to the multicultural atmosphere.
