The restaurant of family-run boutique hotel Vila Komoda serves seasonal dishes in Nordic style, based on local ingredients that sometimes are picked by the restaurant's own staff. It is owned and managed by an internationally acclaimed Lithuanian chef known for his inventiveness and attention to detail. Both à la carte and degustation menus are available for dinner, and breakfast/brunch is provided in a quiet and welcoming atmosphere.
Part of the Vilnius University complex of buildings, this restaurant-café has a Gothic interior and a lively summer garden. The inexpensive menu features national dishes from Lithuania, while beer sauces, beer caramel, and beer marinate are the biggest draw. There's also an outpost in the grounds of the Vilnius University Botanical Gardens—a good choice for summer barbecue.
One of the Baltic's major jazz venues, Kurpiai is also the place to come for coffee, snacks, or full meals throughout the day. The menu ranges from steak to sandwiches. Take a seat on the cobbled terrace or on one of the mezzanines inside the old Klaipeda townhouse.
