Wood beams and sections of exposed medieval stonework add a lot of character to this 14th-century fortress, while creature comforts make each individually decorated room a delightful retreat. Monte Subasio, Assisi, and the distant hills and valleys are in view from most rooms, as well as from the lovely grounds, where a swimming pool is surrounded by lawns and olive groves. There's also a small spa that can be reserved for exclusive use.
