Why We Like It

The staff is the real standout at Hotel Morgana. They're always available and always extra-friendly to help out with anything you might need. While there's no thematic design to the hotel, furnishings in each room are unique and beds are especially comfortable. Set in the multicultural hub of Esquilino, you'll experience the real Rome while also being close to the centro historico for easy sight-seeing. The prices here are excellent throughout the year.

Fodor's Expert Review

A nice, cozy hotel just a stone's throw from Termini station sounds like an anomaly, and yet the Morgana welcomes guests with elegant classically designed rooms and great amenities at unbeatable rates. Room decor pops with bright colors and textiles. Breakfast is generous and abundant, and there's free access to a fitness center located across the street. Book directly to access special packages with either free airport transfer or a free guided tour.

Room

Guest rooms are decorated with kitschy striped walls and bright patterns, comfy, oversize beds, and long, flowing drapes. All vary widely in design, with some featuring classical wood beds and others have wild, wavy headboards. All are clean and modern with a great use of space. They're all outfitted with satellite TV, a safe, and free Wi-Fi.

Tip The heavy curtains block out any light at night for a restful sleep.

Bathroom

Bathroom designs also widely differ, but all are sleek with either dark tile or striped walls. Huge fluffy towels, and a generous selection of toiletries make this a step above the average offerings of a budget hotel in Rome. There's lots of counter space in each bathroom and some have both a tub and shower.

Lobby

The lobby has a kind of Scottish hunting lodge vibe, with green and red striped wallpaper, green marble flooring, landscape oil paintings and a gorgeous Grandfather clock. The staff at the desk is warm and inviting, and there's plenty of seating if you want to relax for a bit.

Dining

The breakfast Buffet is popular for its freshly baked pastries and strong coffee. There's also a wide selection of fresh fruits, cereals and eggs.

Drinking

A lobby bar also has an old-English feel to it with red and green wall-paper and a large oak counter. Grab a drink and sit in one of the maroon velvet chairs. You can also get coffee here throughout the day.

What's Nearby

Getting Around

Hotel Morgana is conveniently located in the Esquilino neighborhood, a hub of public transportation. Termini Station is across the street where you can grab the metro to explore the city, or take any number of trains out of Rome for the day. There are plenty of taxis there too, but being so central you'll find that you can walk to most of the main attractions of centro storico.

Restaurants

Roppongi (13-minute walk) is a causal Japanese joint with great sushi specials. It's an easy place to stop for lunch in-between sightseeing. Most of the pizza by the slice in Rome doesn’t come close to fresh-out-of-the-oven pies. But you’ll have a hard time trying just one slice at Bonci Pizzarium (21-minute drive) with the wide variety of delicious offerings.

Bars

Bar Revolution (4-minute walk) is a great place to grab an aperol spritz outdoors in a picturesque piazza. Druid's Den (7-minute walk) is a no-frills familiar place to grab a cold pint. On some nights there's live Irish music playing.
