Why We Like It

Situated in the Repubblica area of Rome's historic center, the Mascagni Hotel features a contemporary design with luxurious furnishings. A boutique hotel with only 40 rooms, design is well-thought out with comfortable beds and seating. The warm hospitable staff will go the extra mile to make you feel at home. The hotel is in the center of it all, but far enough away from it all to feel like a quiet sanctuary after a busy day. It's a great place to explore from and also relax at the end of the day.

Fodor's Expert Review

Situated on a side street around the corner from one of Rome's most impressive piazzas, this friendly hotel has staff that go out of their way to make you feel at home, public spaces cleverly styled with contemporary art pieces, and wood fixtures and furnishings accentuated by warm colors and handsome fabrics in the guest rooms. The intimate lounges and charming bar—very cozy and attractive with its floral fabric and wood bar—follow the same scheme, as does the breakfast room, where a generous American breakfast buffet is laid out in the morning, complete with complimentary newspapers. Special programs catering to different groups include the \"Family Perfect\" room, which comes with a PlayStation, a DVD player with Disney movies, and wooden blocks for small children to play with.

Rooms have a tasteful bachelor pad feel to them with taupe and burnt orange stripes on matching wallpaper and curtains. Oak beds have color-coordinating covers and fluffy pillows. Rooms include satellite TV, coffeemaker, safe and minibar. Family rooms can be connected or filled with extra beds, and games are available on request.

Tip Although rooms are soundproofed, being in central Rome, those in the back of the hotel tend to be much quieter.
