Why We Like It

Despite being a budget hotel, it's filled with thoughtful and elegant details that make this stand out among the rest. It's in a very central location for getting around the city, but thankfully on a quiet side street away from the noise of traffic. While not the most comfortable for longterm stays, if you're looking for optimal bang for buck, it's more than enough for a short stay to explore the Eternal City. The staff will always make you feel welcome and help you out with any needs you might have.

Fodor's Expert Review

This lovely hotel near Termini station (really in Castro Pretorio rather than Repubblica) is a perfect example of a family establishment: the three Riccioni brothers put their hearts and souls into running the place, while their parents oversee housekeeping and maintenance. Des Artistes hasn't forgotten its roots, though: there's also a "hostel" floor with 11 simpler rooms for travelers on a budget. Become a fan of the hotel on Facebook or pay in cash, and you'll receive an extra discount when booking your room.
