Sant'Ambrogio

If the part of the city to the north of the Duomo is dominated by shopping, Sant’Ambrogio and other parts to the south are known for art. The most famous piece is Il Cenacolo—known in English as The Last Supper. If you have time for nothing else, make sure you see this masterpiece, which is housed in the refectory of Santa Maria delle Grazie. Reservations are required to see it, and you should make yours at least three weeks before you depart for Italy, so you can plan the rest of your time in Milan.
