Hotel Casci
Via Cavour 13, Florence, Tuscany 50129, ItalyWhy We Like It
Unfussy and budget-friendly, this historic spot has been hosting guests for almost 100 years and is a simple, clean, and easy accommodation for unpretentious types. Ideal for families and groups, the rooms on the higher end are spacious – even though they lack any real views. Breakfast is free for all, which is a nice touch, and the small bar has cheap drinks to get your night started.
Fodor's Expert Review
Small and quaint, Hotel Casci is more known for it’s excellent location and storied history than it’s not-so-lavish rooms. Located in a 15th and 16th century complex that was once home to the famous composer Gioachino Rossini as well as noblemen and holy men, the building was officially converted to a hotel back in 1926. Today, this budget-friendly abode is ideal for families and groups of mates who want cheap and easy access to the city’s best sites without any fuss.

Room
Simple, and slightly dated rooms are clean and come with the essentials: air conditioning, flat screen TVs, multi-plug adapters, and safety boxes for any valuables. No design contests being won here, but you won’t feel icky after your stay – which is nice. Triple and quad rooms are great for larger groups and families.
Tip The hotel has same day laundry service in case you need a quick wash of your duds.
Bathroom
The bigger the bedroom the greater the bathroom here. On the higher end, you’ll find Jacuzzi style tubs (without the jets) and bidets. All rooms have towel heaters (work in winter only).
Lobby
The lobby is just a check-in area without much to speak of.
Dining
Off the lobby is the breakfast room where you’ll be treated to glorious original frescoes on the ceiling while you mash on unlimited croissants and yogurt. The breakfast is from 7:30-10 am and the coffee is worthy of waking up for.
Drinking
There’s a small coffee shop off the lobby where guests can buy cheap cocktails and wine while lounging on the maroon banquet against the wall. Look up here as well to find more original frescoes.
