When to Go

April, May, and early June is a good time to visit the islands; the weather is usually good, and hotels and restaurants have just reopened for the season. It gets terribly hot in summer, and visitors crowd the limited space available, particularly in August. Things quiet down in the early fall, and the weather is generally pleasant.
