1. Ceramiche d'Arte Carmela
The store ships its Vietri-made and other hand-painted ceramics all over the world. Bargaining might result in a discount of 10% or even more if you have a talent for it. There are also opportunities for gaining hands-on experience at the showroom and workshop, a three-minute walk away in a courtyard at Via Roma 20.

Affiliated with the Pasticceria Andrea Pansa bakery and coffee shop just across Piazza Duomo, this tiny chocolate shop packs a sweet punch. All of the confections are handmade in its Piazza Municipio workshop. Try the candied lemon rinds dipped in chocolate, an Amalfi specialty. (Remember: you pay double to eat in.)

13. Gruppo Petit Prince
Between March and October, this shop sells colorful stationery, prints, and artworks amid the Gothic cloisters of the Complesso Monumentale San Francesco. There's also an attractive branch in Piazza Duomo at the corner of Via Roma.
