Creatif Hotel Elephant

Lämmerstr. 6, Munich, Bavaria, 80335, Germany, Munich, Germany

Why We Like It

Cheap and cheerful is a sentence that may as well have been written for Creatif Hotel Elephant (and to be honest it would be a more appropriate name than its current slightly odd - although admittedly memorable - moniker). A good central location and clean rooms, plus a good breakfast, push it onto our list - plus the fantastic prices.

Fodor's Expert Review

Tucked away on a quiet street near the train station, this hotel appeals to a wide range of travelers, from businesspeople to tourists on a budget. The recently renovated rooms are simple, but clean and comfortable enough. A bright color scheme in the reception and breakfast room creates a cheery atmosphere, and the breakfast itself is surprisingly good.

Tip The hotel provides tea and coffee downstairs all day for free - a cute touch for a budget property.

Room

Rooms are not large, and the decor and facilities are basic, but the bright touches--like colorful spotty designs on one wall--give the hotel a pleasant feel.

You Should Know There is no air-conditioning, which can be a problem in the warmer months, particularly as there is street noise. Ask for a quiet room.

Bathroom

Bathrooms are clean but also not overly large, and far from luxurious (there are no amenities). Some have bathtubs, but all have showers.

Lobby

The bright, friendly lobby is welcoming if, again, quite basic. But you get what you pay for.

Dining

The hotel's restaurant, Deutsches Weingold, is about ten minutes away, with a pleasant Liberty-style interior and Bavarian and Mediterranean food. It's right next to the Deutsches Theater. Breakfast is served on-site at the hotel, though.
