MOXY Berlin Ostbahnhof

Andreasstraße 76-78, 10243 Berlin Germany

Why We Like It

Marriott’s trendy, millennial-focused budget brand Moxy is a natural fit in edgy, creative Berlin. We like its clever, tech-savvy design, lively communal spaces and wallet-friendly rates. The 24-7 lobby bar and proximity to the city’s nightlife scene makes this a top choice for clubbers, while the rooms’ soundproofed windows and blackout curtains let you sleep off a night of excess.

Fodor's Expert Review

This stylish budget hotel is nestled in the heart of the alternative Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg district, near several of the city’s most famous nightclubs. Highlights of the three-star property include a huge, lively communal lobby with a 24-hour bar and free use of computers, plus powerful free Wi-Fi throughout its seven stories. The streamlined rooms each feature a sexy, eye-catching wall-size photo and 42-inch flat-screen TVs. There’s also a small fitness center.

Room

Three room categories—Sleeper, Double Sleeper and Family—are compact but well-designed, with contemporary furnishings, plenty of USB ports and soundproofed windows. The larger family rooms have a separate living area with a sleeper sofa. A motion-activated LED guide light below the bed is a nice touch for middle-of-the-night bathroom breaks.

You Should Know Rooms have very little space to hang clothes; upgrade to a suite if you want a proper closet.

Bathroom

Bathrooms have showers only (no tubs), stainless-steel sinks and Muk amenities.

Lobby

The bright, sprawling lobby and lounge are the heart of the hotel, cleverly designed with overlapping areas for eating, relaxing and working. A long communal wood table is where you’ll find digital nomads tapping away on their laptops by day. The “living room” is a fun, funky space dotted with modular seating, fuschia-lined bookshelves and quirky knick-knacks. On weekends, the space turns into a buzzy hangout with live DJs and occasional events.

Dining

The lobby hosts a 10-euro breakfast buffet and serves sandwiches throughout the day. A 24-7 snack bar is great for late-night munchies.

Drinking

Cocktails, craft beer and wine are served at the circular lobby bar, which is open around-the-clock.
