Rooms Hotel Kazbegi

V. Gorgasali St. 1, Stepantsminda, Kazbegi, Georgia

Why We Like It

An upscale yet comfortable property in a completely remote setting, Rooms Kazbegi will have you forget where exactly on earth you are. It's a great destination year-round: cozy up by the fireplace in the winter, or relax on the terrace in the summer. One of the very few hotels in the Black Sea town, you can also go through the hotel to book adventures like helicopter rides, or off-road trips up to the 14th century Gergeti monastery.

Fodor's Expert Review

Hide away in the Caucasus mountains of Stepantsminda, the capital of Kazbegi, what was once a getaway for government officials in Soviet times. Built in the '60s and also formerly a Soviet sports base, it’s a toss-up whether this unparalleled ski lodge (though it’s not technically accessible by ski lift—yet) is all about its surroundings or the stunning property itself. But spend an evening on the sprawling terrace with a glass of wine and a blanket, or your own private balcony with panoramic views of the mountain range and the sound of sheep bleating in the distance before you decide. You can also take your chances in the casino on the ground floor. Part of the Design Hotels group, Rooms also has properties in Tbilisi.
