Bus Travel

Many public and private bus companies thread through the Midi-Pyrénées, including the Conseil Général buses from Toulouse and Perpignan; Cars Teissiers from Carcassonne; and Herault Transport from Montpellier. It's wise to check with the pertinent local tourist office regarding your best options, as bus stops and schedules can be confusing even for native commuters. Generally speaking, Toulouse's bus routes run to and from Albi and Carcassonne; Albi connects with Cordes-sur-Ciel, while Montpellier connects with Narbonne. From Perpignan, the Conseil General’s extensive network of buses links almost all towns and villages in the department for €1. Note that if you are coming from Spain, Eurolines and Perpicat run cross-border buses to Perpignan.
