Car Travel
The Dordogne has a surplus of memorable sights, many of them off the beaten path; the public transport system here, however, is limited. So you’ll want a car to maximize touring opportunities and minimize frustration. The A20 is the main route for motorists, extending from Paris almost all the way to Cahors. It connects with the N21 at Limoges, which brings you down into Périgueux and Bergerac. A89 links Bordeaux to Périgueux and D936 runs along the Dordogne Valley from Libourne to Bergerac continuing as D660 toward Sarlat.
