Fodor's Expert Review La Ferme de Biarritz
15 rue Harcet, Biarritz, Nouvelle-Aquitaine, 64200, France
Editor's Note: This location is no longer in operation.
For those in search of rustic and affordable quarters near swank Biarritz, this beautifully restored 17th-century farmhouse offers the best of both worlds—particularly delightful are the guest rooms' antique furnishings, which might have been used by Empress Eugénie herself. Rooms are on the small side but the beds are adequate. The walk into town promotes fitness as well as appetite, while the nearby Ilbarritz golf course (9 holes) is a handy resource. If you're booking in summer, be prepared to stay the obligatory one-week minimum; at other times, there's a two-day minimum stay.
