Train Travel

Perhaps the most efficient way of arriving on Burgundy's doorstep is by rail. The TGV travels to Dijon from Paris’s Gare de Lyon up to 17 times a day (1 hr 30 mins); there's also daily TGV service direct from Paris’s Charles De Gaulle Airport to Dijon (1 hr 45 mins). Beaune is well served by trains arriving from Dijon, Lyon, and Paris; and Sens is on a main-line route from the capital (60–90 mins). The region has two local train routes as well: one linking destinations such as Sens, Dijon, Beaune, and Chalon, and the other connecting Auxerre and Autun. If you want to get to smaller towns or to vineyards, take a bus or car.
