Fodor's Expert Review Granville Hotel

124 King's Rd., Brighton, Brighton and Hove, BN1 2FY, England

Three grand Victorian buildings facing the sea have been combined to create one great boutique hotel. Located near Regency Square and the i360, the rooms here are individually themed and decorated, so guests might find themselves in the pink-and-white Brighton Rock Room, the art deco Noël Coward Room, or the Asian artwork-filled Japanese Room. Many of the rooms have four-poster beds, and those with sea views look out at breathtaking vistas across the Channel.

  • creative design
  • friendly staff
  • rambunctious atmosphere

CONS

  • some may find the rooms too quirky
  • sea-facing rooms can be noisy
  • some rooms are on the small side
  • decor too quirky for some
