Football (soccer in the United States) is the reigning passion in Manchester. Locals tend to be torn between Manchester City and Manchester United, the two local clubs. Matches for both are usually sold out months in advance; stadium tours can be a good alternative if you can't snag match tickets.

Manchester City Etihad Stadium. This is the place to see Manchester City in action and also to inspect club memorabilia, visit the changing rooms, and explore the pitch.
