A former Gordon Ramsay protégé and now a celebrity chef in his own right, Marcus Wareing's Michelin-starred Contemporary European cooking uses the freshest seasonal ingredients to create innovative and delicious flavor combinations like duck with beetroot, plum, and almonds or a rum baba with mascarpone and mint. The style is slightly informal, but the service is professional yet welcoming and the standard of cooking is high. The wine list is excellent if pricey. There's a range of set menus, from vegetarian to multicourse seasonal tasting options. The two-course weekday lunch menu is a (relatively) good value at £60.
