Train Travel

Trains within Europe are well connected to Denmark, with Copenhagen serving as the main hub; however, it's often not much cheaper than flying, especially if you make your arrangements from the United States. The DSB and a few private companies cover the country with a dense network of service, supplemented by buses in remote areas. Hourly InterCity trains connect the main towns in Jutland and Funen with Copenhagen and Zealand; faster InterCityLyn trains run on the most important stretches.

You can reserve seats (for an extra DKr 30) on most longer-distance routes. When traveling on InterCity and InterCityLyn, reservations are a good idea as some trains often sell out. Buy tickets online in advance or at stations. Call Arriva for train travel in central and western Jutland, or the DSB Travel Office for the rest of the country.
