Fodor's Expert Review Hotel Tórshavn

Tórsgøta 2, Tórshavn, Streymoy, 100, Faroe Islands

For location, it's hard to beat this three-star boutique hotel just steps from the harbor. Opened in 1923, it mainly provided accommodations for seamen until receiving a complete makeover in 2007, when rooms were updated technologically and redecorated in warm red, peach, and orange tones, enhanced by playfully seductive canvases by Faroese artist Rannva Holm Mortensen. Views in all directions charm guests, but the harbor view up front remains the obvious favorite. On the ground floor, the brasserie Hvonn maintains steady business all day for quick pizzas and pastas between work and for cocktails and live music afterward.
