Fodor's Expert Review Hotel Føroyar
Oyggjarvegur 45, Tórshavn, Streymoy, 100, Faroe Islands
High in the hills above Tórshavn, and high in guests' estimation, this is considered to be one of the best accommodations in town, combining boutique design sensibilities with the natural life of the island. From the outside, the sloping grass roofs of the long, slender hotel disappear, hobbit-style, into the landscape. Inside, the rooms remain relatively simple, with bare white walls and chocolate-brown bedding, but feature panoramic windows with views down to Tórshavn and the sea.
PROS
- fabulous views
- interesting architecture
- nature setting
CONS
- a 20- to 30-minute walk to town, uphill on the way back
- some rooms are a little dated
- no elevator
