Aalborg Travel Guide

Aalborg may not be Denmark's most visited city, but it's a city on its way up, with plenty to see and do in the realms of history, culture, and dining. Bisected by the Limfjord, the city has been of strategic and commercial importance for centuries, and present-day Aalborg is best known as one of Denmark's industrial and university centers—as well as home to the famous Aalborg aquavit, a potent spirit distilled from caraway and other herbs. A diverse cultural center, Aalborg boasts a symphony orchestra, several theaters, an opera, the Aalborg Museum of Modern Art, a vibrant waterfront, and a picturesque old town with cobbled lanes and charming half-timbered buildings.
