Best Western Hotel City
Peder Skrams Gade 24, Frederiksstaden, Copenhagen, Capital Region, 1054, Denmark, Copenhagen, DenmarkWhy We Like It
This hotel is simple rather than swanky, but it has a sterling location that still manages to be quiet, plus some cute design touches as well as a reasonable breakfast and sweet cabin-style lobby bar.
Fodor's Expert Review
This no-frills Best Western is on a side street a short walk from Kongens Nytorv, Nyhavn, the royal theater, the opera house, and the royal palace. The location is quiet, though, and the hotel has a little more personality than many in this price bracket, with an environmental focus and bikes to rent.
Tip The hotel is entirely powered by wind power - not unusual in Denmark, where last year 44 of the country's energy came from wind.

Rooms are done in black, gray, beige, and brown and have black leather Danish Gubi chairs and large black-and-white photos of jazz musicians.
Bathroom
Bathrooms are a little cramped, with showers.
Lobby
The lobby has a calming fountain (amusingly, with rubber ducks in) and a common area filled with sleek Danish furniture. Staff are friendly and happy to let guests check-in early if there is a room available.

There is no restaurant, but the tasty breakfast is organic and included.
Drinking
A small corner bar with a cabin-like vibe offers drinks and sandwiches.
What's Nearby
Getting Around
Most of Copenhagen's sights are within walking distance, or Kongens Nytorv metro stop is a 6-minute walk.
Restaurants
A traditional lunch at the Copenhagen institution, Schønnemann (16-minute walk) is not too much of a trip on foot. It's been there since 1877, so it would be rude not to try some schnaps while you're there as well. This may slow down your return trip. Or close by, Studio has a lovely harbor setting and some top cuisine too - hence, its Michelin star and general hub-bub about its brilliance.
