Best Western Premier Hotel Kinsky Garden
Holečkova 7, Prague, Praha 150 00, Czech RepublicWhy We Like It
Cheap and reasonably cheerful, the Best Western Kinsky Garden has a bit more personality than many chains and is in a lovely, green location on the edge of Mala Strana. It offers good prices for a quiet, reliable stay that's still not too far from the main tourist sights.
Fodor's Expert Review
You could walk the mile from this hotel to Prague Castle entirely on the tree-lined paths of Petřín, the hilly park that starts across the street. The hotel takes its name from a garden established by Count Rudolf Kinsky in 1825 and is nicer than most hotels at this price, although it still doesn't sing with personality.

Room
There are hardwood floors and flat-screen TVs in every one of the hotel's bright rooms. Alas, the beds are on the firm side, and the look of the rooms is a bit generic.
Tip Aim for a room on one of the upper floors for a view of the park.
Bathroom
Bathrooms are basic but functional and clean. There are baths with or without shower heads, and toiletries are provided.
Lobby
The curving, double-height, wooden reception area is quite pleasant.
You Should Know Some travelers have warned that staff are a little brusque.
Dining
A reasonable breakfast is included in all of the rooms. Worth thinking about as Prague isn't the easiest city to find good breakfast options in.
Drinking
The lobby bar is pleasant enough, if uninspiring. The black and white floor tiles add some flavor, and there is also an agreeable outdoor courtyard for guests in summer.

Getting Around
The hotel is close to Švandovo divadlo tram stop, and is a pleasant walk over to Mala Strana.
Restaurants
Reliable Czech gastropub Olympia (9-minute walk), part of the Pilsner Urquell mini-chain, is a good option for classics like goulash. Across the river, Ginger & Fred (17-minute walk) is a high-end, high-calibre option on top of the famous Dancing House building.
