Bus

Frequent coach services to destinations all over mainland Croatia depart from the capital. The traveling time is around 6 hours from Zagreb to Split and between 9 and 12 hours from Zagreb to Dubrovnik. There are also daily international bus lines to Slovenia (Ljubljana), Serbia (Belgrade), Austria (Graz and Vienna), Germany (Munich, Stuttgart, Frankfurt, Dortmund, and Düsseldorf), Italy (Trieste, Verona, and Milan), and Switzerland (Zurich). Timetable information is available from the main bus station (Autobusni Kolodvor Zagreb), a 25-minute walk from the main square.

About 30 buses run daily between Zagreb and Karlovac in just under an hour and for a one-way fare of around 45 Kn.

Samobor is an hour bus ride from Zagreb; about 50 buses between Zagreb and Samobor run daily. The fare is around 30 Kn each way, and Samobor's small bus station is about 1 km (½ mile) north of the main square.

There are daily direct buses to Plitvice Lakes National Park. Some buses between Zagreb and Split will stop at both entrances to Plitvice Lakes National Park; the fare is around 95 Kn one-way between Zagreb and Plitvice.

About 20 buses depart daily from Zagreb to Sisak, with a travel time under 1 hour and an approximate 30 Kn cost for a one-way ticket. .

There are around 15 buses from Zagreb to Varaždin daily, with a travel time of around 90 minutes, and a one-way ticket cost of 85 Kn. Just under 10 buses connect Zagreb with Čakovec, taking around 2 hours and costing about 100 Kn in one direction.
