Zagreb International Airport (ZAG) is actually located in the city of Velika Gorica, 17 km (10 miles) southeast of Zagreb's center.

There are no direct flights between the United States and Zagreb, but over 25 airlines, including Croatia Airlines and several major European carriers, connect Zagreb with the rest of the world. Croatia Airlines usually operates at least two flights daily to Split (45 minutes), two flights daily to Dubrovnik (55 minutes), and two flights daily to Osijek (45 minutes). Internationally, there are usually regular flights to Frankfurt (1 hour, 25 minutes), Brussels (2 hours, 5 minutes), Paris (1 hour, 50 minutes), London (2 hours, 15 minutes), and more.

A regular shuttle bus runs from the airport to the main bus station, and vice versa, every 30 minutes to 1 hour, usually from 4:30 am to 8:30 pm, with some breaks in between. Check the timetables before you arrive. A one-way ticket costs 30 Kn, and the trip takes 30 minutes. By taxi, expect to pay 150 Kn to 250 Kn to make the same journey; the trip will be slightly faster and will take you directly to your destination.
