Car

While visiting Dubrovnik and the islands, you are better off without a car as parking can be hard to find and expensive, and traffic can be a problem. Korčula and Mljet are the exceptions, as a car will allow you to explore more secluded parts of the islands. You may also consider renting a car if you are traveling up the coast to the Pelješac Peninsula or down the coast to Cavtat and Konavle, as these areas are not well served by public transport and having a car will allow you to explore farther than the bus will take you.
