Train

Train journeys between Zagreb and Osijek are quick and comfortable, with twelve trains daily (four hours, 120 Kn). Venturing farther afield is a different story, as train services have been reduced in recent years and many stations have fallen into disrepair. Once you actually get on the train, the experience is quite whimsical; it cuts right through the heart of Slavonia, giving you a real sense of the region's sweeping vistas.
