Besides wonderfully fresh seafood, dishes include kožji sir sa rukolom (goat cheese with arugula), and pašticada (beef stewed in sweet wine and prunes). Above the ACI Marina, at the foot of Marjan Hill and close to the gardens of Sveti Stipan, this seafood restaurant has a light and airy minimalist interior, plus a summer terrace where you can watch the yachts sail in and out of port. In the vein of "slow food," the kitchen gives great care to seasonal ingredients and presentation. The dining-room walls here are hung with seascapes and fishing nets, and the waiters wear traditional Dalmatian waistcoats. The fresh fish and pržene lignje (fried squid) are excellent, and there's also a reasonable choice of Croatian meat dishes. The restaurant can seem a little dour at lunchtime, but mellows when the candles are lighted during the evening. It's a five-minute walk west of the city center, and there are a couple of tables outside by the entrance for outdoor dining.
