$$$ | Varoš |The dining-room walls here are hung with seascapes and fishing nets, and the waiters wear traditional Dalmatian waistcoats. The fresh fish and pržene lignje (fried squid) are excellent, and there's also a reasonable choice of Croatian meat dishes. The restaurant can seem a little dour at lunchtime, but mellows when the candles are lighted during the evening. It's a five-minute walk west of the city center, and there are a couple of tables outside by the entrance for outdoor dining.
