To make the most of Ghent's sights, get hold of a CityCard Gent, which for €30 to €35 gives free entrance to many of the city's sights and museums. Valid for either 48 or 72 hours, cards are available from the tourist office and participating venues.

Another great way to see the city is from its rivers. Numerous companies run 30-minute trips, all costing €7 and leaving from landing stages clustered at the north end of Graslei and by the Groentenmarkt.
