Fodor's Expert Review De Vitrine

De Vitrine is the brainchild of locally born chef Kobe Desramault, and continues the trend in Gent's top-end establishments for set menus and imaginative cooking. Located in a former butcher's shop, it serves informal bistro food with an almost pedantic attention to detail. Bookings are hard to come by, so try and plan ahead. For something less formal, check out Desramault's recently opened Superette (29 Guldenspoorstraat), a wood-fired bakery-cum-café-restaurant that serves heavenly sandwiches and good coffee.
