Fodor's Expert Review Hôtel Noga

Rue du Béguinage 38, Brussels, Brussels Capital, 1000, Belgium

Opened in 1958, the well-maintained Noga is packed with sepia-tinted old nautical mementos, which include black-and-white photographs of the period and even a sailing-theme bar. There are rooms on four floors for two, three, or four people—larger rooms have sofas. The hotel is in the popular Béguinage quarter, near the Ste-Catherine fish market, and wins a lot of praise for the way it treats guests. It's not flashy but definitely friendly.

PROS

  • it's been well maintained despite its age
  • basic breakfast is supercheap (from €5) and tasty
  • superhelpful staff

CONS

  • bathrooms lack tubs
  • it's quite expensive for the facilities on offer
  • parking is a pricey €18 per night
