Fodor's Expert Review Walburg
Boomgaardstraat 13–15, Brugge, Flanders, B8000, Belgium
Editor's Note: This location is no longer in operation.
One of Brugge's grandest 19th-century town houses is now a hotel, only a few blocks from the Burg. It was built by Isidoor Alderwerelt, the same architect who finished the Palais de Justice in Brussels, and most of its original features were kept when the house was renovated in 1997. The lovely rooms, tastefully decorated in different color schemes with antique furniture and marble bathrooms, are a generous 750 square feet. Classical music welcomes you in the marble lobby and you can easily imagine Viennese-style balls taking place in the dining room.
