Editor's Note: This location is no longer in operation.
In late 2016, Antwerp got its first covered food market—a street food alternative in a city with a thriving, though often pricey, culinary scene. The market is currently set in the former post office building on Groenplaats, though at the time of writing its ultimate location wasn't finalized. Fried chicken at Box Bird, hummus at Yalla Yalla, and the dim sum delights of Sum Sum in particular strike a chord. Throw in Moroccan, Belgian, and Japanese stalls, plus DJs, live music nights, a cocktail bar, and the odd pop-up, and you've got the hippest, cheapest new addition to Antwerp's dining scene.
