Why We Like It
The luxury is indulgent, and there's no finer place to indulge than in an Old World city like Vienna. The views are lovely and evocative, the plush rooms and top-of-the-line service are designed to make you relax and unwind completely.

Comprised of four, 19th C. palaces that were joined together decades ago, the hotel is now a heritage-protected site. It is located on the famed Ringstrasse, right next to the Stadtpark, and is a true testament to the high standards of luxury to which the Viennese hold themselves — from the marbled floors and staircases, to the lounge trimmed in gold. The Ritz has been a contender for the top spot in luxury since 2012, when it first opened here.

Room
Quite large — even the junior suites have walk-in closets — and many with high ceilings, all offer a charming view of the city and a host of amenities. The furnishings are tasteful, though unimaginative. Upon request, you can get a room with a balcony.
You Should Know Warning to those with allergies: Beds are feather.
Bathroom
A wonder of marble. Each has sizable soaking tubs and heated floors to warm your feet. Bath products are by Asprey.
Lobby
This is where, in the old, old days, the National Casino — an upper-crust men's club where the aristocrats would meet — was located. Today, the marble floors are every bit in keeping with the grandeur the hotel exudes, and the decorative wooden lines that dominate the reception area are meant to remind viewers of the tree-lined Ringstrasse. There is ample seating in and around the lobby, and a relaxing atmosphere overall.
Pool
At 18 meters, it is the longest hotel pool in the city. It's also worth noting that music is piped in underwater.
Spa
Men and women each have a separate facility that include a sauna, steam bath and heated beds to relax. There is also a long list of choices for massages and treatments. For couples who want to experience Austria's wellness spa culture together, there are spa suites that feature private whirlpools and a host of high-end amenities.
Gym
Offers more equipment than the standard hotel gym, including a rower with a water tank for a more "real" feel. There are also yoga mats, and for those who want more personalized attention, personal trainers.
Dining
The Distrikt Steakhouse is considered one of the finest gourmet restaurants in the city and is known for its farm-to-table service. In warm weather, outdoor seating is available. MeLounge is also an option, serving lunch, dinner, and afternoon tea in a room next to the lobby.
Drinking
D Bar serves some of the finest cocktails on the Ring. In fair weather, the rooftop bar Atmosphere offers not only drinks but, well, atmosphere: wonderful views of the city.

Getting Around
Parking is next to impossible, but who needs a car when you're staying on the Ring? You're within walking distance of all the major sites, and the Stadtpark and Karlsplatz Ubahn stops are quite close.
Restaurants
The Steirereck is a Michelin-starred restaurant in the heart of the city park and where Chef Reitbauer serves up the latest in Austrian gourmet. For a light lunch that is only a premise for sampling glorious desserts, go to the glamorous and storied Cafe Demel. Inside the Burg Theater, 'round the corner from the hotel, is the delightful Vestibül, where Chef Domschitz invents outstanding dishes night after night.
Bars
Palmenhaus is the place to go at the end of the evening to sip a Grüner Veltliner and be further charmed by this city. Under a glass dome more than 100 years old, you feel like you're in a greenhouse. Le Cru is a lovely little champagne bar on the Petersplatz, a remarkably quiet and quaint square not far from the hopping Kärntnerstrasse. For a more lively scene, Onyx at Haas Haus is the place to be.
