Fodor's Expert Review Rómaikori Kotár

Vienna Woods, Lake Neusiedler, and the Danube River Museum/Gallery

Editor's Note: This location is no longer in operation.

A fine Renaissance courtyard leads to the churchlike vaulted medieval cellar—a perfect setting for the gigantic statues of Jupiter, Juno, and Minerva unearthed beneath the main square during the digging of foundations for the city hall in the late 19th century. On the second floor a separate museum (with identical hours and admission prices) re-creates the living environment of 17th- and 18th-century Sopron apartments.
