Fodor's Expert Review Hotel Koller

Pass-Gschütt-Strasse 353, Gosau am Dachstein, Upper Austria, A-4824, Austria

One of the most charming hotels in Gosau, the peaked gables and weather vanes of this 1850s-era villa give a fairy-tale aura when seen from its pretty park. The original owner, a famed Austrian industrialist and brewery magnate, often welcomed the emperor to his beautiful country house for relaxing hunting retreats. Inside it's cozy, with an open fireplace and warm woodwork, and the outdoor heated pool is a treat after hiking in the Dachstein mountains. Many of the guest rooms have breathtaking views. Try to get a room in the main house. Notable highlights include the tavern's gala dinners, featuring regional grilled specialties supplied fresh by the farmers of Gosau, and a special Christmas program.
