Huge arches and heavy wood beams set the mood at this five-star hotel that's substantial both in size and character, and has superb spa and fitness amenities. The guest rooms are spacious and luxuriously furnished, some contemporary, others more rustically Tyrolean. It's very proud of the "Bionic" sleeping system, which means very comfortable mattresses; there's a pillow menu, too. The three-story Water World Venezia wellness area, featuring a reproducton of St. Mark's Square, has 10 saunas and steam rooms. The fitness studio has Pilates and yoga for those not exhausted by skiing or hiking. A five-course dinner is included in the half-board rate, but the kitchen, which has one of the highest Gault Millau awards, also serves à la carte meals.
