Fodor's Expert Review The Tuscany
Governor's Rd., Grace Bay, Providenciales, TKCA 1ZZ, Turks and Caicos Islands
Located at the far eastern end of Grace Bay, this quiet, upscale self-catering resort is the place for mature, independent travelers to unwind without the need for resort amenities, thanks in part to its immaculate gardens and prime setting on a long and secluded beach shared mostly just with its sister property, the Venetian. The one- to three-bedroom condos have designer furnishings and spacious screened balconies with oceanfront views, full kitchens, king-size master beds, and large bathrooms with soaker tubs and oversize showers. Lined by palm trees, the pool is quiet and relaxing. Although the resort has no restaurants, it's within walking distance of several. Guests are issued a cell phone that comes preset with numbers for island restaurants and excursion companies, for use wherever they go during their stay.
PROS
- barbecue grills for guests' use
- all condos have ocean views
- beautiful pool
CONS
- no restaurant or reception, and it's at the far end of the hub
- very expensive for a self-catering resort
- can feel like no one else is on the property
