Fodor's Expert Review The Tuscany
Governor's Rd., Grace Bay, Providenciales, TKCA 1ZZ, Turks and Caicos Islands
This self-catering, quiet, upscale resort is the place for mature, independent travelers to unwind without the need for resort amenities. Located at the far eastern end of Grace Bay, the Tuscany has a long stretch of beach almost all to itself, with only its sister property, the Venetian, and private villas in one direction. All one- to three-bedroom condos have designer furnishings and spacious screened balconies with oceanfront views, full kitchens, king-size master beds, and large en suites including soaker tub and oversize shower, which makes sharing your vacation rental a breeze—even if you're not family. Lined by palm trees, the pool is a quiet and relaxing haven. Guests may enjoy in-suite spa services hosted through two different island spas, as well as the convenience of an on-site fitness facility. And the gardeners should wear a badge of honor; these gardens are immaculate, with not a blade of grass out of order. Although the resort has no restaurants, it is within walking distance of several restaurants and shops, and you can use one of the on-site barbecue grills—an unusual amenity for a condo resort. The Tuscany has completed their conference room and business center so that groups up to 15 can blend business with pleasure. Note that guests are issued a cell phone that comes preset with numbers for island restaurants and excursion companies, for use wherever they go during their stay.
