Fodor's Expert Review Le Pressoir
Editor's Note: This location is reported to be under new ownership and therefore this review may contain inaccuracies.
This restaurant in a carefully restored West Indian house painted in brilliant reds and blues has charm to spare. The name comes from the historic salt press that sits opposite the restaurant, but the thrill comes from the culinary creations of chef Franc Mear and the hospitality of his beautiful wife, Melanie. If you are indecisive, or just plain smart, try any (or all) of the degustations (tastings) of four soups, four foie gras preparations, or four fruit desserts—all sophisticated preparations with adorable presentations. Foie gras is served in a dollhouse-size terrine with a teensy glass of Sauternes. There is a €15 kids' dinner.
