The 13 modern and chic apartment units hidden in this private enclave in Pelican Key were built by the owners of Hotel L'Esplanade and Le Petit Hotel, on the French side, and share the French management's vision, graciousness, obsessive attention to detail, and concern for guest comfort and safety. The immaculate units share a shady, Zen-like pool, and each has a large balcony. Bedrooms are loft-style, upstairs, with comfortable king beds; kitchens have granite and stainless; and each apartment has a washer and dryer. (There is a small, exorbitantly priced market nearby for emergencies; otherwise, head to the Garden Market.) The location is great for exploring, although you have to walk five minutes to the nearest beaches.
