Fodor's Expert Review Gros Islet Jump-Up
The island's largest street party is a Friday-night ritual. Huge speakers set up on the street blast Caribbean music all night long. Sometimes there are live bands. When you take a break from dancing, you can buy barbecue fish or chicken, rotis (turnovers filled with meat and/or vegetables), beer, and soda from villagers who set up grills along the roadside. It's the ultimate carnival fête.
