St. Eustatius Getting Oriented

Friendly Tranquility

A tiny part of the Dutch Caribbean, St. Eustatius (often just called "Statia") is just under 12 square miles (30 square km), which is still twice as large as Saba. The island, which is 38 miles (63 km) south of St. Maarten, has a population of only 3,600 (and about the same number of goats). And although there are some beaches, they are better for strolling than swimming.
