Palmas Athletic Club. Palmas Athletic Club has two good golf courses. The Rees Jones–designed Flamboyán course was named for the nearly six dozen flamboyants (aka flame trees) that pepper its fairway. You begin play among villas, but the back nine ventures into forest and hills. It is considered one of the tougher courses in Puerto Rico. The older Gary Player–designed Palm course is a bit shorter in more of a resort style of play, with the 14th and 16th holes affording some wonderful Caribbean vistas.
