Fodor's Expert Review Chukka Caribbean Adventures at Cranbrook Flower Forest
Editor's Note: This location is no longer in operation.
Chukka Caribbean took over this attraction in 2011, where you can enjoy the north-coast rivers and flowers without the crowds. The botanical reserve is filled with blooming orchids, ginger, and ferns and is the private creation of Ivan Linton, who has pampered the plants of this former plantation since the early 1980s. Linton still proudly points out the birds-of-paradise, croton, ginger, heliconia, and begonias as if they were his dear children. The grounds are perfect for a picnic followed by a hike alongside shady Laughlin's Great River. The path climbs high into the hills to a waterfall paradise. Other attraactions include horseback riding, wading, and volleyball. The complex has a snack shop and restrooms.
