Fodor's Expert Review Billini Hotel

Calle Padre Billini 258, 10211, Dominican Republic Fodor's Choice

A wonderful addition to this charmed neighborhood, this boutique hotel was created from a collection of buildings that date back to the 1700s; in its former lives, it has been an ecclesiastical library, an ammunitions depot, and a private school, but its identity as Padre Billini’s library was the inspiration for the hotel today. On the first floor, the unique Heritage suites, which incorporate some pieces of the original building, are in demand, but other suites offer views of the cathedral or use of a private courtyard. All are rather spare and modern in design. A full breakfast is included. The diminutive restaurant opens for lunch and dinner, too. There's a small pool and bar on the roof.

  • special promotions and discounts found on the website

  • some aspects of the hotel are cramped
