Virgin Gorda's charming hostelries appeal to a select, appreciative clientele; repeat business is extremely high. Those who prefer Sheratons, Marriotts, and the like may feel they get more for their money on other islands, but the peace and pampering offered on Virgin Gorda are priceless to the discriminating traveler. Villas are plentiful on the island and are widely distributed, but most of the resorts are concentrated in three places: The Valley (a catch-all geographic name that encompasses the southwestern part of the island), the Northwest Shore, and the North Sound, which is reachable only by ferry.
