Fodor's Expert Review Necker Island

Necker Island, British Virgin Islands

You probably won't run into British magnate Sir Richard Branson, but you can live in his luxurious style when you rent his estate on Necker Island. If you're rich, famous, or well-heeled enough to spend thousands a day to get away from it all, this would be the place to do it. Actually, it's not such a bad deal if you and 40 of your family and friends want to enjoy a vacation together. The island comes fully staffed, and all meals, drinks, and activities are included. Rooms are spread out over the main house and a handful of cottages located around the island. Arrival is by helicopter or private launch from Terrance B. Lettsome Airport on Tortola. For a few "Celebration Weeks" every year (usually in the fall), individual rooms can be booked for seven-night stays. Destroyed by Hurricane Irma in 2017, the resort has been completely rebuilt.
